  • Dr. Jordan Smoller is Associate Vice Chair of the MGH Department of Psychiatry and Director of Psychiatric Genetics. He is Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston. Dr. Smoller is Director of the Psychiatric and Neurodevelopmental Genetics Unit (PNGU) in the MGH Center for Human Genetics Research.

    Dr. Saedi is the former student committee chair of the APA Division 46 in Media Psychology. She has written for the APA publications, The School Psychologist and The Amplifier, Media Psychology. She has also published empirical articles in such journals as the American Journal of Orthopsychiatry, Journal of Muslim Mental Health, the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry, and Substance Abuse Treatment, Prevention, and Policy.

    Lawrence Blum, M.D., is a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania. He is also a training and supervising psychoanalyst at the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia. He as has degrees from Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He is a member of the American Psychoanalytic Association.

  • Michael X. Delli Carpini, Dean of the Annenberg School for Communication. Prior to joining the University of Pennsylvania faculty in July of 2003, Dean Delli Carpini was Director of the Public Policy program of the Pew Charitable Trusts (1999-2003), and member of the Political Science Department at Barnard College and graduate faculty of Columbia University (1987-2002), serving as chair of the Barnard department from 1995 to 1999. His research explores the role of the citizen in American politics, with particular emphasis on the impact of the mass media on public opinion, political knowledge and political participation.

    Dr. Lemieux is an Associate Professor of Communication at Georgia State University, where he is a lead researcher in a newly established interdisciplinary Second Century Initiative on trans-cultural conflict and violence. He is also an investigator with the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START), a U.S. Department of Homeland Security Center of Excellence based at the University of Maryland.
