  • Robert J. Sawyer is one of only seven people ever (and the only Canadian) to win all three of the science- fiction field's top awards for Best Novel of the Year: the Hugo Award, the Nebula Award, and the John W. Campbell Memorial Award. He is the author of 20 novels. ABC Televison developed and produced his best selling novel, FLASH FORWARD. His new book is TRIGGERS.

    For over a decade, Mr. Kroger has successfully defended celebrities and well-known executives against criminal charges while upholding their rights and maintaining their privacy during difficult times. Mr. Kroger represents many out-of-state clients, as well as many clients in California, in both federal and state courts. He has appeared in federal court in 10 different states, including New York, Texas, Florida, and Michigan.

  • Dr. Frank B. Wilderson’s work explores cinema's formal and narrative "awareness" of political ontology by bringing two disparate modes of representation into conversation with one another: (1) the cinema of Red, White, and Black directors and (2) three traditions of epistemological reflection: Humanism (feminism, Marxism, psychoanalysis); Indigenism (meditations on sovereignty and genocide); and Social Death (meditations on the accumulation and fungibility of Black bodies).

    Dr. Brian David Goldberg is Co-Chair of the Political Science Department and Assistant Professor in American Government. He teaches Introduction to Political Science and Introduction to American Government along with upper division courses in United States Politics. In addition to teaching, Dr. Goldberg is the CEO of a local nonprofit, Casa de la Familia (www.casadelafamilia.org) and is an elected member of the Beverly Hills Unified School District Board of Education.

    Dr. Kelly J. Baker received her Ph.D. in Religion with emphasis on the hate movement, religion and material culture, and religion and gender (specifically masculinity). Dr. Baker serves on the steering committee of the Arts, Literature, and Religion section for the American Academy of Religion and the Religion and American Culture Caucus for the American Studies Association. She is also the chair of the North American Religions section for the Southeastern Center for the Study of Religion and teaches in the Religious Studies department at the University of Tennessee. Her new book is The Gospel According to the Klan.

Michael is an active member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Criminal Court Bar Association, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.

    Dr. Katherine Forrest is a member of the steering committee of the Progressive Ideas Network and a co-founder of the Commonweal Institute. She developed Commonweal's popular series of workshops, "Talking Politics with People Unlike Ourselves," which are designed to help progressives be more effective when talking with those who may not share their political views.
